Ok, I know I'm late in the lead off on this. But WTF? I don't care what his last 15 dope tests showed. he was busted dead to rights. Any one else thinks that he and anyone else doing this is a problem?

Him passing 15 drug tests says a lot more abut basebals inadequate testing procedures than it can ever begin to vindicate him.

As a Sox fan it breaks my heart to see this after all the defending of the guy I have done over the years. Nw I afraid I have to say that at this point I find myself wondering if after all that bseball as been through. Its tarnished image in the public eye its humiliation in front of congress. Seeing how guys like palmero, sosa bonds clemens etc etc have hurt the sport. After all that Manny says, "Fuck it Im going for it" He might be the worst of them all.

        Good one!
But he did pass 15 tests in the past 5 years.

It's not about the ones he passed but the one he failed. NO MAN in the world should have HCG in his body unless he is afflicted with testicular cancer (more likely to find Alpha fetoproteins as well...) as it is a pregnancy related hormone. It also kick starts a body to produce natural steroids after suppression with artificial ones. So much for physiology <101.

I LOVE Baseball. (I am one of the few female sports fiends I know.) I don't love what pendejos like the aforementioned of the topic and within don't do for the game but the gain. Granted a ball players career years are limited and they sometimes like to amass as much as they are able within that time. Bad reffing is one thing but ripping off the fans and the game are a whole other issue.

It's time for Manny to man up, literally, IMO. I'm not talking about pointing fingers. I'm talking about cleaning up his work ethic and his act. He doesn't deserve the $ we spend to go and see FAKES like him. Rant over.

Point was, he was clean when he was with the Sox. Yes, it sucks for baseball that another one bites the dust.

Dude we have no idea wether he was clean when he was with the sox. The fact that he passed 15 tests says more about the inadequate testing procedures. He got caught in the process of masking the steroids how many times was he able to mask it.

Ive been rooting for the Sox since Yaz and Rice and it kills me to say it but when it was bonds I was calling him out for it. Why should I let Manny slide because he was once in a sox uniform.

In some ways I think he is worse than bonds and mguire well maybe not those guys because they straight up stole records but I think manny is certainly worse than clemens pettite palmero etc etc. After all that basebll has been through he still cose to use steroids. Fuck him

I have to wonder if there was some kind of implicit agreement between the commish's office and the MLBPA about not testing diligently for steroids because of all the HR's hit during the 90s. HR's put fans in the seats and I wonder if both sides were willing to look away until Canseco's tell-all book pushed it to the national forefront.

" I am SHOCKED, SHOCKED to find gambling in casablanca"

When they build the metaphorical gallows and line up the nooses I sure hope theres one there for Selig. He is either complicit by conspiracy or he is complicit by incompetence.

I think former comish Faye Vincent said it best. When asked about Mark Maguire not getting into the hall of fame he responded, "Well if these guys dont want to talk about the past then why should we honor them for it?"

                    Incredible ain't it.

                    >When they build the metaphorical gallows and line up the nooses I sure hope theres one there for Selig. He is either complicit by conspiracy or he is complicit by incompetence.

I read a book a year or so ago (I can't remember the title) that measured what each commissioner did, how bad or good they were. Giamatti & Vincent get an incomplete grade because they both weren't commish very long. However, their predecessors clearly stunk and so Selig by default is the best one baseball has had. Yeesh!

Babe Ruth once called Kenesaw Mountain Landis (the first commish) a "white-haired old bastard." He wasn't too far off the mark.

                    >I think former comish Faye Vincent said it best. When asked about Mark Maguire not getting into the hall of fame he responded, "Well if these guys dont want to talk about the past then why should we honor them for it?"

It's remarks like that which make me wish Vincent hadn't been run out by the owners and forced to resign.

No se re: Canseco's book and exposure. To me, it's time to "staap u raas" (creole translation available on request) in sports. When money is involved people get a "little" off the "res" and far into the "raas", IMO. For what I'd like to know exactly? Maybe they will need all that $ to help with their future health problems;here is a fast rewind to Lyle Alzado and lymphoma to the brain after his escapades with steroids (tho they were different ones) as an example.

Now, I'm sitting here with this page open and this ad appears: "Novarel HCG $49.99/ampule
Buy Novarel HCG at Wholesale Prices Safe and Secure. We Beat All Prices
*Provider removed so as not to encourage this crap*.

Exactly what in hell is being promoted with that ad?

Clue x 4 needed, desperately. Like I said, I "love" the game. I "love" my Cleveland Indians. But I don't love any of it enough to allow anyone to steal from me and the game to support this shameful sham. They outta just come clean and deal (in an ideal world). Baseball is a great sport. If it weren't it would not have survived all of the years it did prior to all of the doping and dopes who take the stuff, IMO. Shakes head and reaches for a legit Fri Pm cocktail.
